Penn faculty and staff: Now you can pick up farm fresh produce, yogurt, cheese, bread and coffee at UPenn!
The Earth and Environmental Science Department of the School of Arts and Sciences, the Center for Public Health Initiatives (CPHI), and the Common Market, is pleased to bring the Delaware Valley Farm Share to our campus!
Common Market is a sustainable agriculture distributor that connects family farmers with public and private schools, hospitals, universities and grocery stores. By providing the infrastructure to establish these connections, Common Market promotes the movement of eating food that is grown closer to home. This movement supports the local economy (and local pride!) and ensures the good care of regional farmland. (Plus, there’s no denying that local food is fresh and tastes good!) Common Market developed the Delaware Valley Farm Share (DVFS), which delivers farm-shares to the work place for pickup. Beginning in June, Penn will be added to the list!
If you have any questions about Common Market or the DVFS, please direct them to Audrey Huntington (215.275.3435 or firstname.lastname@example.org) – Audrey is Common Market’s Local Food Operations Manager.
But hurry! During this pilot year, space is limited to 30 people on a first come, first save basis. See this FAQ for more information.
